- Add 1/2 cup of Milo’s Sweet Tea to a medium saucepan. The sweet tea is the foundation that gives this copycat Milos sauce its signature Alabama flavor.
- Pour in 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. This provides the essential tangy backbone that balances the sweetness.
- Add 1/3 cup of brown sugar to the saucepan. The molasses notes in brown sugar add depth and complexity.
- Measure in 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard. This adds a subtle sharpness and helps emulsify the sauce.
- Add 1/2 cup of ketchup for body, color, and that familiar tomato-based richness.
- Sprinkle in 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper to enhance all the flavors.
- Whisk everything together thoroughly until completely smooth and no lumps remain. Make sure the brown sugar dissolves into the liquid.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken slightly and the flavors will meld beautifully. Remove from heat and let cool before using or storing.

Notes
Store your homemade Milos sauce in an airtight glass jar or container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. The vinegar and sugar act as natural preservatives. To reheat, warm gently in a saucepan over low heat or microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between each. The sauce may thicken when cold-simply whisk in a teaspoon of water or sweet tea to restore the perfect consistency.
