Method
- On the stovetop, place a small sauce pot on medium heat, add the hot honey along with the soy sauce.
- Next, add in the minced garlic and stir the sauce until it smells aromatic.
- Afterward, mix in the powdered ginger and combine well.
- Then bring the sauce to a low simmer for a few minutes and then reduce the heat to low for about 10 minutes.
- In a bowl or measuring cup, add most of the water to the cornstarch to create a smooth slurry.
- You can then pour your slurry into the pot and mix well.
- Bring your sauce back to a light simmer so that it can thicken and become glossy.
- Finally, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Note that it will thicken a little more as it cools.

Notes
Store the sauce in a sealed container or jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. The sauce will thicken as it cools off in the fridge, so to reheat, do so slowly over low heat on the stovetop. Only add a little splash of water at any point if you need to adjust the consistency. Make sure to stir well before serving to reconstitute the sauce back to nice and smooth!
