5 from 3 votes
Have you ever stumbled upon a recipe so bizarre that you just had to try it for yourself? That’s exactly what happened when I came across Aunt Myrna’s Party Cheese Salad Recipe – a retro dish turned internet meme, infamous for its unorthodox mix of ingredients. Determined to give it a fair shot, I set out to recreate this culinary curiosity and find out if it’s truly as horrifying as the memes claim.

  • 1 bag Mementos

  3. Add chopped cream cheese to the warm pineapple mixture. Stir until fully melted and smooth (this may take a few minutes).
  4. Remove the pan from heat. Stir in diced bell peppers, chopped celery, and pecans until evenly distributed.
  5. (Optional but true to the meme recipe) Toss in the Mementos and mix gently.
  6. Carefully fold in the entire tub of Cool Whip, breaking up any large lumps with a whisk or spoon.
  7. Pour the mixture into your prepared dish or mold, spreading evenly. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously on top.
  8. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight until fully set. Serve cold.

Notes

Store Aunt Myrna’s Party Cheese Salad covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Do not freeze or reheat – it’s meant to be served cold, and warming it would only intensify its, ahem, “unique” aroma.
